Modern Chinoiserie
This current trend refers to the historic European interpretation of classical Asian design elements. The trend for scenic wallpapers has pushed this decorating theme into all categories of home furnishings design from fabric to wall art, lighting and more. The clear colorful over the top mix of luxe finishes and materials drive this look. Our version takes it a bit beyond the historical reference by seeing it through the lens of mid-century modern design. We might take an element with an Asian influence, such as the hardware on our Zhin cabinets, and use it sparingly on an otherwise very simple shape.
